sWISHbrade

A nick based on a silly pun when I joined the Toyota Wish community. I'm stuck with it, so that's what I go by.

A Tribute

I couldn't resist. After the last post "Crash!", I had to show you my baby in her full glory.
Ladies and gentlemen, a tribute to the sWISHbrade.

** Sidenote added on 31/12/2006 : I collected my ride yesterday and it was perfect! The guys at Bluwel did an excellento job. And for the price they charged me (fraction of a new bumper), they will continue to get my (Mr Ngeow) business from now on! Thumbs up Mr Kenny (Ah Soon), and thumbs up for Justin for the excellent recommendation!

Here's a picture after the repairs. Not bad eh?

CRASH!!!!
It was a catfight! And my mistress lost, when my wife banged her head against a metal pillar on 20th Dec '06. Dammit! Why do the men have to suffer when things like these happen?
My mechanic gave me an initial quote of about S$500 but called in later to inform that he had needed to do some structural re-alignment of the front part of the chassis. In other words, he said "you are gonna have to eat instant noodles for a loooooong time boy!"The mechanic told me that he would save me some serious moola by attempting to re-mould my bumper and will re-spray it, so I didn't have to change a brand new one. "Will look 90% new lah" he teased...

Saddest part is, I know that sWISHbrade is never going to be the same again.
I will be collecting her from the mechanic tomorrow........I feel like a husband fetching his wife from the plastic surgeon's clinic. Damn it! I hope he did a good job.
On TV, housewives go under the knife and come out looking like Baywatch bombshells. Maybe my Toyota Wish is going to look like a Lexus tomorrow! While I'm keeping my hopes conservative, let's see what happens.

CONTRACTIONS!!!!

At about 12pm on 17th July 2006, a certain Mr Lucas Liow was finally ready to be popped out of the oven.

Ms Elvira "Trooper" Liow summoned for:
1) An Excel spreadsheet to for timing her contractions; &
2) A packet of chicken rice in preparation of the task ahead.

And off we went to Gleneagles......

Note from the pictures that it was obviously the 1st stage of labour.

A quick pose for the camera....

A little snack to keep energy levels up.

A pleasant update for mumsie........
.
And a peek at the notes before the examinations began
All with a smile of course

Posted by Picasa A picture of Elvira's guinea pigs before they become a part of our memory. Fred (on the left) was a gift from Elvira's Deyi Secondary School students but was given away very shortly when we realised that we were unable to handle 2 pigs competently.

After Lucas was born, Ginger (on the right) was fostered at Elvira's parents' home. We took her back about 4 months ago. Now, she's a little older and a little balder like me.

After 6 years with us, Ginger is now living her out her life in an old rusty cage. With Lucas' arrival, I am sad to say that we aren't able to take care of her as well as we used to, and we definitely do not get the chance to play with her as much. Sorry about that old girl. I'll try my best, I promise.
