A nick based on a silly pun when I joined the Toyota Wish community. I'm stuck with it, so that's what I go by.

Penang 2006

We celebrated X'mas 2006 with a trip to Penang for Lucas to see his 爷爷 (my dad), who is staying there. It was only a short 3 day 2 night trip, but the union was well worth it. I mean, look at the smile on my dad's face!

The itinerary of the trip could be summed up in a single sentence. We ate, shopped, fell asleep along Rasa Sayang's beach, ate and shopped some more. Pure bliss!
It was double whammy for Lucas as it was both the first time he had seen 爷爷, as well as the first time he had gone on an airplane. Not many pictures taken this trip, but I've got a home video...if anyone wants to watch it.

Actually, the fact that Lucas had gone on a plane before riding on a bus or an MRT, really puts it clearly that the parents have got to pull up their socks and bring him around a little more....noted.

Mr Liow's Arrival

It's long overdue I know. But for posterity sake, please allow me to document Mr Lucas Liow's very own touch down on 18th July 2005.

My first sentence when we first met. You popped out of Mummy's tum, and I said "hello there....so that's how you look like."

Lotsa pictures, not many words.

Lucas' Day Out!

Papa and Mama brought Little Lucas out today. Actually it was time for a haircut and we decided to hang out proper, just the 3 of us.

First stop was some some over-priced kiddo hair styling salon at Forum, called Super Sams or something like that. We reached there a little too late and they wouldn't help Lucas cut his car. No harm, we found another salon in the same building and the lien pang mei did a super job, but still, Papa had to cut off an arm to pay for the bill. He was such a good 'un and didn't fidget at all!

Went to Toys r Us next, and he had a blast! We nearly bought the whole shop and qualified as VIPs in a single visit. Just to let you have a feel of what we bought, the list included an inflatable ball tent...FWAH!

Dinner was at Hard Rock Cafe when Mama and Papa decided to bring our son to an old watering hole of ours. The mac n cheese from the kiddo menu didn't go well with Lucas, and Mama ate it all...as usual. And as usual, we over ordered, but I got a taste of their ole' Pig Sandwich which was as good as I remembered it. BUT.....
I'm sad to report that the magic of HRC is almost gone. Gone are the days when Saturday nights saw mile long queues outside their doors. A handful of diners, some there to watch football, no queue, an all Philipino serving crew.
But we did get our serving of nostalgia, and Lucas fell asleep in HRC....just like Papa did, 16 years ago.

UNO!

While slurping down the third can of DC today after a hectic trip to Marina Bay for the 2007 NY fireworks display, I pondered upon the truth behind it's zero calorie claim, proudly printed on the can.

With my sleuthing hat on, I visited coke's official site FAQ, as well as some other urban legend sites to discover that the claim on the can is FALSE! They LIED! From the caramel flavouring it uses, Diet Coke contains 1 calorie!

It's official! I have done my due diligence, and I will continue buying DC from Shell petrol stations by the cartons with my conscience clear....1 calorie! UNO!
